At Zane’s school, they enjoy him so much they give him stickers for singing to the teachers and class. His favorite song he shares is a quite humorous hip-hop song called Low (Applebottom jeans) by FloRida. He wanted to share his first music video with everyone with promises to improve the broken equipment and missed song words next time.
Two weeks today after her attempt to eat daddy’s heart candy Remi has learned the phrase “I do myself.” How can she start sounding and acting like mommy so soon? We introduced her to show on Nick Jr. called Yo Gabba Gabba (picture to the right), and she can’t get enough, morning noon and night it is “I watch Gabba.” The cutest part of the show is when they learn the DJ Lance dance and her and Zane dance around the room. The characters teach sharing, friendship, laughter, etc.
The weekend of Remi’s incident was our last week with Matt and Kate for our summer custody (which is a week on week off). That transition is hard on the children, and I think Zane and Remi go through a very sad withdraw from their siblings. They ask about them all the time, and I can’t even imagine how hard it is to Matt and Kate. Now we look forward to our every other weekend and try to cram every little thing we can into that time. We tend to go hiking/geo caching as much as we can when we have all four kids. Last weekend we hiked about 3 miles on Saturday and 4 miles on Sunday at Moraine State Park on a trail my friend Anne, and I used to hike all the time with the dogs. We brought our new puppy Kali for the first time, and although she didn’t swim in the lake with Teva, she had a blast and stayed right with the pack. Kali is a red and white border collie and about 12 weeks now. She is a beautiful dog, and we are so happy with the addition to our family. We never thought about getting another dog until Teva got a large tumor on her right size. We could not imagine losing her and thanks to Dr. Stroebel again Teva is now 8 and recovering well from her surgery.
Carl and I are very excited about our trip to San Francisco on October 2nd for Grandma’s 90th and Abby’s 2nd birthday’s.
Grandma Nona just celebrated her birthday this week, and we went to our favorite Japanese Steakhouse, Miyako to celebrate. (I would post a picture but not without her prior written consent, or she will blow up my camera). When Chef Dan made the volcano/fire, Zane ran to the middle of the restaurant stopped, dropped and rolled for everyone. It was hysterical. Only our Zane.
