Zane was a lucky boy today because Daddy took him along to the Pirate Game. When you are one of four kids alone time is hard to come by. I must say that I am jealous of Zane’s adventure this weekend. What I would have done for a father like Carl.
Our children don’t realize how lucky they are to have two and even three parents (Matt and Kate) that love and care for them. But not just the love and care that you feel in your heart because they are your kids. It’s the love of actually parenting and riding out the ups and downs of the job.
It is effortless for us parents to get caught up driving to activities, having playdates, giving the kids a new toy to play with and dropping our kids off at fun events but we are not spending quality time with them at all. They will not be taught what is right and wrong in school; our children will be lead by example in what they see and experience through us as parents. They need our time, our attention and our ears.
They are so lucky to have a father that wants to lead by example and pave the path for them to be anything they want to be.
Thanks, Gill and Meagan for the Pirate Tickets!
