During our journey in California, the Pro Tennis Tournament started at our club. We enjoy participating in this event, and two years ago when it was held at Oxford, we hosted Salome a player from Georgia (Russia) and her mom. It was a great experience, and the kids loved them especially Matthew, our oldest gave up his room for them stay.
Our winter tennis season started, and Carl is captain of the mixed 8.0 team. We played together (yes Carl and me) this weekend and won. I was so happy we pulled out the match because I haven’t played at all since our women’s 4.5 Princeton University section championships about two months ago. 9.0 mixed started this week as well, but the matches were at the same times. Hubby must always come first, sorry Curt and Deniz.
The good news is Remi did not end up in the emergency room this week, and Zane went on his very first playdate! Wow! Abby and her parents took him to Soergels Pumpkin Patch and then to play at their house. What a day for little man Zane!
We started our journey group at the Bice’s house and looked forward to getting to know everyone better. Kali (our border collie puppy) started puppy classes at Soergel’s. She was so good at class I bought her a special bone, which she shared when she got home with Teva (our eight-year-old golden retriever) and they both spent the evening sick from both ends. Kali is still sick a week later. I guess they won’t be having special bones anytime soon!
Looking forward to Matt and Kate back home this weekend! It is Yeck Farm Pumpkin Patch, Hayride and Maze weekend with Discovery. We miss them over the school year.
