Zane started his first organized sport and had a blast. At four years old I would have never imagined a little boy expressing such drive, ambition, and competitiveness. We saw it first hand this past Saturday when he started Mars Under 5 Soccer. He walked on the field clueless knowing two things, first that he only uses his feet to kick the ball and second to put the ball in the net.
Zane showed us that he certainly understood his mission, scored so many goals that we lost count but most importantly had a blast. With him only knowing those two things, unfortunately, he would take the ball away from anyone, even his teammates because he was aware that he was supposed to get it and put it in the goal.
He was so proud of his ability that in the middle of the game he stopped looked at mom, dad, and Remi on the sideline and yelled: “how many more goals do you want me to get.” Around half way through the third quarter he was wiped out and just started falling over. We could not stop laughing as we watched the little man.
Every day he now wants to wear his soccer gear and play. I think we have ourselves a little athlete. We can’t wait to see him play next week.
