Love, can it honestly be so genuine? The answer is yes. My oldest, Matthew adores his little sister. He wants to sleep over with her, help her, hold her and love her. He has patience, kindness and genuine affection for little Remi. It is adorable to see them interact. He knows what to do to make her laugh even when she is in the middle of crying. Sometimes I wish I could take lessons from him. In the car, as Remi is throwing a fit I have caught him sticking his thumb out and her pulling it until she stops crying. Just amazingly, straightforward and effective. But I bet it wouldn’t work if I tried.
I am excited to watch them grow up together and share so many wonderful memories. I believe in love, true love…the kind that makes your stomach wheezy from the inside. A deep tug from within that brings a slight tear to your eye, and you feel empty without it. I believe Matthew has that feeling. For him, it is a quiver of his voice when he talks about his birth mom or the look in his eyes when he holds his little princess.
