Sometimes life happens so fast it becomes hard to capture. I guess that is why I take so many pictures. I wish words came that easy. This summer, was an amazing time for our family. We are in the new house, the weather was great, our new neighborhood is filled with wonderful families and our kids all healthy and happy. Tough to ask for any more. I think the best thing that happened this summer is our relationship with Matt and Kate’s mom. I can see the difference in the kids and how much they enjoy us all being together. Zane and Remi have even included her as part of our family. We couldn’t be more pleased and thrilled to have Cindy as part of our crazy pack. Just to keep the record straight, Grandma Nona is still the leader of the pack. She keeps us all on our toes and laughing.
The kids spent the summer at Windwood and enjoyed every minute of it. Remi officially became a big girl and met some new friends beyond Ella and Ally. She has been attached to them for years, and we were starting to think she would never want to be friends with anyone else. It was really cute that Traci and Kelley’s girls were in camp with them and they got to know each other well this summer. Cindy also put Matt and Kate at Windwood during her time, so it was wonderful having all four kids together every day. With Matt’s coaching, Zane passed his deep water test, and he thinks he is superman off the diving board.
Remi has won the coloring contest at Giant Eagle twice in the last six months, and she just thinks she is the drawing machine. Zane is upset that he hasn’t won, so he keeps asking us to take him to the Eagle’s Nest and give him enough time to finish a picture to win. Haha. Poor Zane needs to realize that he just can’t possibly win everything.
School officially started about two weeks ago, and Remi just loves full day kindergarten. Zane is in 1st grade, and they are so cute riding the bus together to Eden Christian Academy. Matt and Kate are both at Eden Hall/Pine Richland, and we look forward to them taking their first bus ride from the new house soon. With school starting comes fall soccer, Zane now on U8 (although he is only 6) and Kate (9) on U10. We were excited about this year not sure how Zane would stack up against his team and opponents. He never stops amazing us and just does fantastic scoring four goals in his first game. Kate seems to enjoy the game, but sometimes we wonder if she enjoys hanging out with the girls more than playing. It is okay either way; we are just happy she is having fun.
From the sidelines, we heard, “Keep the ball away from the boy in the red socks.” That’s our boy!!
