Do dogs tell stories? Mine does. Teva is an 11 1/2-year-old golden retriever and wonderful family pet. She is a loyal and amazing companion that has blessed our family for many years. Her story is simple; she lives in the moment. Just think, Teva doesn’t complain about the walk she didn’t get yesterday, or not getting a bone after her bath or even that you forgot to feed her dinner last night. She is thrilled the moment you call her name, rub her head, twirl her ear or walk towards the garage door where her food bowl sits on the other side. Teva doesn’t stress about things she cannot control; she goes about her day laying on her bed, playing with a tennis ball and chewing a bone with not a worry in the world. When we come home, she jumps to her feet and runs to the door to greet us. Teva is also forgiving, humble and patient. She does not hold a grudge, boast or complain. I want to be more like Teva, every day. Yes, I am envious of my dog. I need a little bit of Teva to remind me to appreciate every moment and to stop worrying about things I can’t control. Teva is the perfect example of how to cherish the moment. I love her story.
