Today was the last day of training before Saturday’s race, my first tri. I also made my first journey away from the park on the busy roadways with my hubby. It’s been three years since we rode last and it felt great to get back out there. We had a 12.6 ride from our house looping around North Park and back. The climb back up through North Park Manor and then Emmett is rough ending on a 12% climb on English. After our ride, I enjoyed a nice swim with Kat, about 600 meters. The swim felt very relaxing, and Kat’s strokes improved a lot since the beginning of the week. We ended the evening with about 45 minutes of tennis and the kids riding bikes in the neighborhood. Zane wanted to practice his T2 (transition from bike to run), and he practiced dismounting his bike, running it up the driveway, dropping it in the grass, tossing the helmet and off for his run. Too cute.
Three different people have walked up to me at my car and said “nice rack.” It is funny, especially when I say thank you. My husband blushes instantly. I just wonder when they walk away if they realize what that could have implied. And yes, they are talking about my bike rack. BTW, the Thule survived yesterday’s crash. Love that rack.
Now to enjoy a Friday without exercise and a good night sleep. Race day. Go Ford’s!
