Great day at Bethany Beach. Carly and I started the day with a tennis clinic followed by a 17-mile bike ride through Ocean City Maryland and back along the Coastal Highway. Beautiful ride and I felt great. I think I could have ridden all day, but we had to get back to Sea Colony to get the kids out of camp. It is so easy to ride on flat surfaces; maybe I should try a triathlon here… I did a nice 1-mile run to get Remi at camp and then walked her back with her bike.
We had some fun at the beach and then rode my bike over to the Freeman Fitness Center at Sea Colony for my first Masters Swim. (Trying to get some practice before I join Suzanne’s Masters Swim back home). Wow, that hour just wiped me out.
I know swimming is my weakness, but I could barely walk going to dinner afterward. I know I should swim like a fish, I felt like a big fat whale. Bobby, the teacher, had me working on many total immersion drills and helped me focus on my chest/chin pressure and my foot/knee skills. After 1400 yards in the pool and the bike ride back to Edgewater I felt like a shark bit my legs off. I am determined to make the pool my strength someday. Perfect vacation day!
