We are home from our wonderful trip, back to work and back to life. I feel as if I didn’t miss a beat of my training program and got a lot of great workouts in a while away. Monday I went for a longer run directly from my house with lots of hills and traffic. I completed a 4.75 mile run to Warrendale Park and back and I felt pretty good finishing up with an additional 1-mile walk to cool down. I forgot about all the hills we have…..
On Tuesday I did my first bike venture alone from our new home to North Park for a loop and then back. Did I mention lots of hills? The highlight of my ride was coming back on Pierce Mill Road meeting a woman on a horse at the red light (at 910). YES, A HORSE. We talked about the nice weather, and she then said, “Do you want to race?” I was laughing pretty hard looking at all the cars at the intersection wishing I had a camera to see the lady on the bike next to the lady on the horse. Although as I crossed and turned onto the huge hill going up towards the North Park Manor I wished for just a second I was on the horse. Gotta love Pittsburgh.
I do wonder who would win the race if my friend Jeremy were on the bike? I would bet on the bike.
