Today rekindled a memory of the last 7 miles of the 35.1 mile Rachel Carson Challenge a few years back. The last person in my group just dropped out at the final checkpoint and I was headed up the huge hill along Route 28 all alone, dusk quickly approaching. At the crest of the hill
I slowed my pace and just trekked ahead paying close attention to my feet as I landed on rocks and sticks along the path. I was pretty much alone in the woods for a while, was passed twice along the course but I passed at least 8 people along the way.
